13 domains 1 codebase shared login

0

This question is a bit similar to what has been asked here before but my use case is a bit different.

I have 13 Drupal 7 sites that share the source code. 12 of them run the same modules / settings but look slightly different. At the moment I use 13 databases.

I have about 50 users on each site and each user has some nodes.
Every site has its own taxonomy terms but the vocabularies are mostly named similar.

My goal is to let users from site A login into site B without filling in their profile again.
I have some custom modules running that alter the user profile fields.

My first thought was to migrate all users to one database but that would give issues with the user nodes since they could have the same uid. So I have to work that out and also do this with the user nodes etc. Think this is gonna be difficult….

Then I thought to call a hook at login and let the user login checking the username and pass across all 13 databases. But then if the user is logged in his or her profile won't be filled.

I'm a developer so I don't mind writing some code but I'm not considering myself a drupal expert.

Best way would be to start from scratch and share the user table from the beginning avoiding duplicate uids.

What would be the best approach to let users login on all sites with their whole profile available ? Any recommend modules?

List ALL Taxonomy Terms with Views

0

I am trying to figure out how to use views to list out ALL my taxonomy terms that are grouping node titles.
Example:

Taxonomy Term 1
- Node Title 1
- Node Title 2

Taxonomy Term 2
- Node Title 3

Taxonomy Term 3
-Message: There are currently no Node titles at this time, please check back

Taxonomy Term 4
- Node Title 4
- Node Title 5

Currently, I can listed out my Taxonomy Terms but they only display if they have a Node Title grouped under them. I really need to be able to list out all the Taxonomy Terms and if they do no have a Node Title, to then insert a message.

Any ideas?

Drupal 7 Real Estate | WebDesignYes.com

Hi there,

I have a client that wants me to design a Drupal 7 Real Estate web design, which I will be setting up with Drupal 7 Installation, theme, and putting everything ready, but I am looking someone that can assist with the project in case I need help for the user registration part (so property owners can add their own property and their own profile registration)

These are the details for the whole project:

Build a website that will allow owners to list FSBO(for sale by owner) properties.

The multisite option of Drupal shall be used - in the end there will be 2 sites with two different URLs, their functionality will be exactly the same however the data on each site will be different (for 2 different citites). There will be one single codebase due to the use of drupal multisite.

  1. Home page map - the home page shall consist of a google map very similar to what is seen here: http://com2computer.com/collectioncenters.php - Each FSBO property on the website shall be a marker on the google map. When you click on a marker, a pop up will come up that will consist of the following information - Property Thumbnail, Price, Address, Condition, Bed/Bath Count, Type (Single Family, Condo, or Multi-Family), Units (Only displayed if a multi family property) The property address page shall be the top field, and will be linked to the property detail page.

  2. Home Page Search - Below the map will be a search function, called "Find your Property!". It will have the following fields:

-Price Range (These will be two select menus, one for a low bound and one for a high bound, the select menus will be in $50,000 increments all the way from $0 to $2,000,000
-Bed/Bath Count (NOTE: Bed and Bath are separate, and EACH is to have two select menus, a high bound and a low bound, with the low bound being 1 and the high bound being 10)
-Condition - There will be a checkbox for EACH of the following - Gut Rehab, Poor, Fair, Good, Excellent.
-Location - Here will be an address field where a user can type in an address and then specify a mile radius, the radius will also be an input field but must validate to positive and numeric
-Type - There will be a checkbox for EACH of the following - Single Family, Condo, Mutli Family
-Units - A select menu, with options 2, 3, or 4, will be used only if the Multi-Family checkbox is checked under type

When a user enters the above criteria, a new page will load with a map that will be indentical to the home page map, except only the properties that match the given search criteria will be displayed. Also, on this search results page, at the bottom the search form will still be there in case the user wants to keep on searching, and all of the criteria that the user put in in the previous search will be populated in the search form.

However, there will be a "Clear Search Criteria" button, that when pressed will just simple clear all of the search criteria out of the form using javascript.

  1. User system - In order to list a property, users will be required to register with the website. The default drupal registration process will be changed so that a user enters their password while they are registering, however their email will need to be confirmed before their account is active. However, this will just be a confirmation, and drupal will not be sending out that password set link that it does by default, it should just send out an account confirmation link. Users will be able to add/edit/delete their accounts, if a user deletes their account all of their properties will be deleted along with the account.

Please see the attached file to see the points 4 to 8

Your qualifications:

  • A work style that is extremely detail oriented
  • Strong communication skills
  • A complete Drupal profile
  • References or an established reputation on Drupal preferred

Drupal 7 Genealogy Site

I have developed a family history website based on Drupal 7 which works quite well.

The only minor downside is that you need to enter references twice and there are no automatically generated family trees.
I am not a programmer or web developer but I would be happy to share what I have and to collaborate with anybody on taking this further.
Take a look at my site at http://sandesancestry.net.
I am busy creating a document on the complete structure of the site and I will post a link to it here once completed.

Errors trying to set up multisite

0

I am using Drupal as a multisite installation. I am able to setup and create multiple sites using the sites.php file and creating the necessary subdirectory.

What isn't working is using the default setup for multiple domains. What I want to do is point all of my domains at the Drupal installation and have them all load as the default site until I develop each individual site. When I do that the home page loads but if I click any links I get an internal server error.

Is there a way to make this work? I have created the default site as a subdomain of my main site, i.e. My default site is dev.magicmenagerie.com but my main site is magicmenagerie.com. If I just point magicmenagerie.com to Drupal to load the dev.magicmenagerie.com I get the same problem, home page is fine but internal server errors on any other page.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated as my site is currently in maintenance mode.

I am using Drupal 7.23.

Thanks for all your help,

Buddy
